Situated on the banks of the Jhelum River, a tributary of the famous Indus River, the city of Srinagar is a heavenly abode on earth with numerous lakes and large expanses of green valleys spread throughout. The Jhelum River runs through the city and the valley, emptying in the Wular Lake. The city at 876 km north of Delhi is famous for its nine ancient bridges, linking the two parts of the city.

Pahelgaon  :   Pahalgam is probably the most popular hill resort in the Kashmir valley. Since it is rather lower than Gulmarg the nighttime temperatures do not drop so low and it has the further advantage of the beautiful Lidder River running right through the town. Pahalgam is situated at the junction of the Aru and Sheshnag Rivers and surrounded by soaring, fir-covered mountains with bare, snow-capped peaks rising behind them. The Aru flows down from the Kolahoi glacier beyond Lidderwat while the Sheshnag from glaciers along the great Himalayan. At the confluence of the streams flowing from the river Lidder and Sheshnag Lake, Pahalgam was once a humble shepherd's village with breathtaking views. Now it Kashmir's premier resort, cool even during the height of summer.

Katra :  Katra a small town which is 48kms from Jammu enjoys its reputation for being the starting point or the base camp for undertaking the auspicious trip to the holy shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi, the one of most revered Hindu pilgrimages which is reached after an ordeal of trodding along a 13km long footpath
Sonamargh : Sonamarg means a meadow of gold. A tranquil valley set amongst glaciers and placid lakes, it has flower-laden meadows, panoramic views of the snow-covered Himalayan peaks and a number of trekking and hiking trails. Situated in the western part of the state of Jammu and Kashmir, it is set an altitude of 2740 m above sea level and is surrounded by the Himalayas. 80 km Srinagar. Sonamarg has alpine weather conditions with mild and pleasant summers from April to June and chilly winters from November to February accompanied by heavy snowfall. Surrounded by some of the highest mountain ranges of the world, the sparkling snowcapped mountains reflect the golden rays of the sun to give Sonamarg its name. One can see magnificent views of snow-clad ranges and attractive meadows enroute while going to Sonamarg from Srinagar. Wonders of the nature abound in Sonamarg in its quiet meadows and flower-carpeted fields.

Gulmarg : Gulmarg is meadow of flowers, legendary beauty, prime location and proximity to Srinagar naturally make it one of the premier hill resorts in the country. A huge cup-shaped lush green meadow, Gulmarg looks like something out of a fantasy, and in spring, the green meadows are dotted with colourful bluebells, daisies, forget-me-nots and buttercups. Surrounding them are snow-capped mountains, and on a clear day, one can see all the way to Nanga Parbat in one direction and Srinagar in another. Come December, and the luxuriant green slopes of Gulmarg are blanketed with snow, forming some of the finest natural slopes for ski runs of all levels. It is during this time that Gulmarg acquires a new persona — the country’s premier heli-skiing resort.

Muhgal  Garden :  Mughal Gardens, as the name suggests, built in the Mughal period is a marvel located in Srinagar. These gardens are the major attractions for tourists coming to Jammu and Kashmir. These gardens are a fine example of the Mughal style of architecture & design.
The Mughal Gardens is combination of three renowned gardens namely the Nishat Bagh, Shalimar Gardens and Chashm-e-shahi. These gardens are every travelers delight with beautifully laid out manicured gardens, with vibrant flowerbeds, terraced lawns and well long stretches of cascading fountains.

Hazratbal  Mosque :  Hazratbal Mosque is the most important Muslim Religious place, situated on the western shore of Dal Lake.  Its pristine white marble elegance is reflected in the waters of the lake. Hazratbal's special significance is derived from the fact that it houses a hair of the prophet Muhammad. This is displayed to the public on religious occasions, usually accompanied by fairs. Apart from these occasions, Friday prayers are offered at Hazratbal and attended by throngs of people. Hazratbal is remarkable for being the only domed mosque in Srinagar; the others having distinct pagoda like roofs. The shrine – mosque complex is situated on the western shore of the Dal Lake opposite Nishat Bagh and commands a grand view of the lake and the mountain beyond.
