Going to Egypt is synonymous with unearthing history and exploring the ancient past of pharaohs and
queens and their kingdom around the Nile River. This trip is aimed at imbuing the visitors with
historical past and kindling curiosity in the natural and the man-made environment. Egypt is an
ancient country with its deeply old cultural, social, economic and civic life. It has one of the oldest
civilizational monuments- the Pyramid. It exudes the essence of history, the royal past and their
pharaohs; its history is housed in the Egyptian Museum. Visiting Egypt without the Museum is a real
loss to the traveller. Cleopatra’s 2 kg gold necklace is one of the prime attractions of the Museum. For
History and art lovers, heritage observers and world tourists and travellers, Egypt is a minefield of
history awaiting exploration and adventure.

Entering the Pyramids Chamber from inside.
N.B.: The King’s Chamber in the Great Pyramid:
“Getting to it is challenging, you will have to bend down all the way till you reach the burial chamber,
and once you enter, it is very difficult to turn back. The stone passage is only wide enough for one
person. You must be in good physical condition, able to climb several flights of stairs, bend double,
crouch and duck-walk for short distances. The King’s Chamber itself is the world’s most
claustrophobic place, with dim light and heavy, hot, oxygen-poor air. There is no ventilation. If you are
at all sensitive to claustrophobia or confinement, or if you have any sort of respiratory condition, for
your own safety and the safety of others, you must not enter the pyramid because it is impossible to
remove a person or to bring aid to them quickly”

Early morning, wake up & drive to Abu Simbel to witness Sun Festival. The Sun Festival takes place at
Abu Simbel, a famous temple near Aswan in southern Egypt. It was built by Pharaoh Ramses II in the
13th century BCE. The temple honours Ramses II, the gods, and especially Ra, the sun god. The
temples are famous not only for their grand scale but also for their precise alignment with the sun.
The highlight of the festival revolves around a solar phenomenon that occurs twice a year. On these
days, the sunlight reaches deep inside the temple and lights up statues of four gods. These include
Ramses II, Ra, Amun, and Ptah. Interestingly, the rays of the sun illuminate all the statues except Ptah,
who remains in the shadows as befits his association with the underworld. This solar alignment is a
brilliant example of ancient Egyptian engineering. The dates of the Sun Festival are believed to
celebrate Ramses II’s coronation and birthday. It’s a symbol of the Pharaoh’s connection with the
gods and Egypt’s deep spiritual roots.
visitors from around the world gather at the Abu Simbel Temples before sunrise to witness the
incredible moment when the sun’s rays travel through the temple entrance and illuminate the inner
sanctuary, lighting up the statues of the gods.
