About the Place
DHAKA OVERNIGHT : Dhaka is the capital of Bangladesh. Located on the banks of the River Buriganga, It has a colourful history and known as the 'City of Mosques.' Modern Dhaka is the center of political, cultural and economic life in Bangladesh,).After the partition of India in 1947,Modern Dhaka is the centre of political, cultural and economic life in Bangladesh. Although its urban infrastructure is the most developed in the country, Dhaka suffers from urban problems such as pollution and overpopulationThe city is attracting large foreign investments and greater volumes of commerce and trade. It is also experiencing an increasing influx of people from across the nation, this has reportedly made Dhaka the fastest growing city in the world.Dhaka became the administrative capital of East Pakistan, and later, in 1972, the capital of an independent Bangladesh. Mosques; Hindu Temples; Churches; National Memorial; Lalbagh Fort; 1857 Memorial ( Bahadur Shah Park); Mukti Juddha Museum; Ahsan Manzil Museum; Curzon Hall
Old High Court Building; Dhaka Zoo; National Museum; Botanical Garden; Central Shahid Minar; Suhrawardy Uddyan (Garden); Banga Bhaban; Baldha Garden; Ramna Green; Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban (Parliament House).
COXBAZAR OVER NIGHTS : Cox's Bazar is a town, a fishing port and district headquarters in Bangladesh.Cox's Bazar is located at a distance of 152km south of Chittagong.Cox's Bazar is called the Tourist Capital of Bangladesh. Having the world's longest unbroken sandy sea beach (120 km) sloping gently down to the blue water of the Bay of Bengal . It's golden sands, towering cliffs, surfing waves, rare conch shells, colorful pagodas and Buddhist temples against the picturesque background of a chain of forested hills with rich wildlife made this beach as one of the most attractive tourist spot in the world r Bangladeshis the infatuation is because Cox’s Bazar is so unlike the rest of the country, but a foreign visitor, used to the clean, liberal sands of Spain, Australia or California, is likely to be far less enamoured. The beach itself is a lovely, long (very long!), and surprisingly clean slip of sand, but by no stretch of even the most enthusiastic imagination can it be described as the ‘number one natural wonder of the world’, which is exactly how Bangladeshis, through an online web vote (which you will be asked constantly to partake in) are promoting it. The way to get the most out of Cox’s Bazar is not to think of it as a beach holiday, but rather to treat it as a way to relax with middle-class Bangladeshis at play by just surrendering to their holiday enthusiasm.
CHATTAGRAM OVER NIGHTS : Chittagong is a city in southeastern Bangladesh and the capital of an eponymous district and division. Built on the banks of the Karnaphuli River, the city is home to Bangladesh's busiest seaport .making it the second largest city in the country.A trading post since the 9th century, Chittagong has a multicultural heritage of Islamic, Hindu and Buddhist traditions. Modern Chittagong developed in the early 20th century under British colonial rule. But the city also became a focal point for revolutionary activities against the British, notably thearmed uprising led by Surya Sen in 1930. It was also an important military base and supply point for Allied forces during the Burma Campaign in World War II. After the partition of India in 1947, Chittagong became a part of East Pakistan. In 1971, as East Pakistanis rebelled against Pakistan’s refusal to accept results of democratic elections, the declaration of Bangladesh’s independence was announced in Chittagong. The city went onto witness atrocities and naval blockades during the liberation war that followed.
Today, Chittagong is one of the fastest growing cities in the world. A major commercial and industrial centre, the city also has a globally competitive special economic zone. With the Port of Chittagong being expanded and developed, regional neighbours of Bangladesh have eyed Chittagong as a future regional transit hub. Sharine of Byazid Bostami : This holy shrine attracts a large number of visitors and pilgrims. At its base there is a large tank with several hundred tortoises floating in the water. Sandy beach at the meeting place of the roaring sea and the river Karnaphuli.
RANGAMATI OVERVIEW : Rangamati, a small town located amongst the green hills, lakes and rivers of the Chittagong Hill Tracts. This is what makes it a prime Bangladesh hill destination. It is known as the Lake City of Bangladesh as this place is located on the bank of the beautifulKaptai Lake. It is the administrative headquarter of the Rangamati Hill District, the largest district of Bangladesh and located some 77 kilometres away from Chittagong. For long time Rangamati has been a prime Bangladesh tourist destination for its location, scenic beauty, colourful tribal people, tribal homespun textiles and ivory jewellery. The rich natural resources, diverse flora and fauna makes Rangamati a Bangladesh Eco-Tourism destination. The road leading to Rangamati circles and winds through hilly terrains covered with lush green forests and creates a memorable experience for years to come. A stay here provides a glimpse into the lifestyle of various tribes living there. The ethnic tribes of Rangamati are the Chakma, Marma, Tonchongya, Tripura, Murong, Bome, Khumi, Kheyang,Chak, Pankhoa, and Lusai. The mix of different races, cultures, religions and customs creates an interesting community at Rangamati. It is said that without visiting Rangamati a tourist will miss a colourful slice of Bangladesh.
KUSTIA OVERVIEW : Kushtia is a bustling town just south of Rajshahi division, but largely in the middle of nowhere. At first sight it may appear an unlikely spot in which to find a living guru, and the shrine of a saintly man with a sweet voice and a sensible view on life, but then this is one of the poorest areas in the country, so maybe they did choose appropriately.
AIRPORT : Zia International Airport is the largest airport in Bangladesh. It is located in the capital Dhaka.
Bangladesh, east of India on the Bay of Bengal, is South Asian country of lush greenery and many waterways.
